Making Space For Connection

Seven years ago Bar Soap Company all started with LIVE video sales on Facebook. Since then things have certainly taken a lot of twists and turns. I've tried a lot of paths to share my passion with the world. To be honest, all of them have their benefits. Most often these paths were taken in response to what my family needed in the moment. I'm grateful for that.

What these paths didn't lead to, what they always lacked, was the connection of the early days of Bar Soap Company. When I knew the preferences of my customers. When someone reached out and I knew just who they were and where I was sending my hard work. As packages flowed so did the positivity and the connection. I really miss that.
Over this past winter, like all makers, I began to prepare for what this year would bring. I thought about the lugging bins and tents, traveling from corner to corner of the state each weekend. What was I really looking for and is that the best way to achieve it? The short answer is: connection and no.
Participation in high-quality events costs a lot of money for a small business. It's not just the vendor fee. It's the equipment, the displays, the handouts, the advertising time, the travel, the endless posting. You put so much in that there is no choice but to make the focus of the events sales over connection. I've been there and done that for years. I don't want it. Honestly after hosting events for years, I'm burned out from it and over it for 2026.

What I do want is the connection I used to have with customers and supporters. I miss the good morning shout outs. The check-ins during LIVE videos. I miss connecting over our kids, lives and so much more than soap. I want that back in my life.
Trying to have real connection with other people from your kitchen, with the kids, dog and dinner on the stove isn't really feasible. To make the move toward real connection happen, I've found 100 square feet of perfection. This little studio gives me a quiet space to host virtual events, LIVE shows and get that connection flowing again.
I can't say thanks enough for supporting my soapy, sudsy dream. You really matter!
