Soap Making Workshop

Service Description

During this 90 minute sessions we'll create your ideal handmade soap. We'll talk fragrances, additives, oil blends, butters and colorants. You'll choose from my extensive collection of phthalate and paraben-free fragrances, select ethically sourced micas, premium clays and that's just the beginning. We'll talk pumice, coffee and sugar to bump up the exfoliating qualities of your bar. We'll swirl, layer and top your bars to create something special and unique. I proudly stock an abundance of options for both all naturally colored bars and my bright, bold and ethically sourced micas. You'll create a full loaf of soap. That's two pounds! Cold process soap is a labor of love. I'll unmold your loaf and slice it the next day. I'll slice your loaf into 8 classic, 4 ounce bars. Your beautiful bars will need a six week curing time before they are boxed and sent to you. You should allow another two weeks of curing before gifting or using yourself. This time is necessary for your soaps to achieve their full potential. Like fine wine or cheese, soap is better with some aging. These soaps are well worth the wait. Beyond being the beautiful bars you put your creative genius into, they are long-lasting, moisture-rich soaps that leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Especially when you hit your bars with that hint of super fine pumice! I'll create giftable labels for your soaps. Before I send these out to you, or we arrange pick-up, I'll get your feedback on the right label for your soaps. Enjoy this creative experience with someone you love. Not only will you have a great time creating together, but you'll have months of handmade soap to show for it! I've taught many, many classes and they are always a wonderful bonding experience. My new space is just right for welcoming pairs of creative souls. I am comfortable hosting groups of up to three persons. Please use the ADD-ON feature to account for additional persons. All the safety gear and materials you need will be provided. I do need you to wear long-sleeves, full-length pants or a skirt and closed toe shoes. Cold process soap involves some risk. It's importantly we take that seriously. You must wear the safety gear provided including a face shield, apron and gloves. The cost of shipping your bars to you, labels and boxes is included in your booking.
